The California Solar Initiative Solar energy is one of our state's most abundant - and least utilized - renewable resources. As part of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's Million Solar Roofs Program, California has set a goal to create 3,000 megawatts of new, solar-produced electricity by 2017 - moving the state toward a cleaner energy future and helping lower the cost of solar systems for consumers. The California Solar Initiative offers cash incentives on solar systems of up to $2.50 a watt. These incentives, combined with federal tax incentives, can cover up to 50 percent of the total cost of a solar system. Learn more at www.GoSolarCalifornia.ca.gov.
